School Age – Before and After School
The School Age program at Heritage Christian Youth Center is a safe, fun, and educational place for children ages 5 through 12 years of age. We base all of our programs around the needs of the child’s school schedule and the school calendar.

Your child will be welcomed to an environment that encourages them to further their social and emotional skills, build confidence and enhance their leadership skills. Your child will be engaged in fun art and crafts, activities in the areas of math, language, and science are part of their afternoon structured program.
Schedule
Heritage Christian school-age program is offered throughout the year for your convenience. We provide care to your child on all days your elementary school is closed during the year. Our centers are open Monday – Friday 6:00am – 6:00pm.
HCCC is only closed the major holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
- Christmas Eve
Transportation
The local elementary school transports to us, please talk to the Administrator to be sure that transportation from your school district.
Staffing School Age Kids
Keeping school-age children busy is our way of keeping them active both mentally and physically. Our dedicated school-age teachers love to mentor the school-age child. They are knowledgeable teachers who love working with school-age children and are here to comfort and support your child daily. Our teachers want to help your child learn and grow while having fun doing it. Knowing your child is the eldest of children in our center we want our school-age children to feel very comfortable at The Academy.
Homework
We want to make homework fun and an easy experience for your student. We provide time for homework and even help your child understand their homework.
Activities
Along with the structured classroom activities, your child will participate in our Enrichments programs – physical fitness, music, movement, art, drama and computers. Outside time is very important to us at The Academy, school age children have their own playground which allows for free play and lots of physical activity.
